[SOLVED] system suspends after 10 minutes [Solved]
I have the Power Manager set at " never " but with some applications or just displaying the desktop my system the system will suspend after a short while; it doesn't happen while watching movies but for just about any thing else it will suspend

Re: system suspends after 10 minutes
did you check the ACPI Options in your BIOS?

Re: system suspends after 10 minutes
Since you have a battery, maybe it's trying to save power via tlp (though it's a desktop).
/etc/default/tlp
TLP_ENABLE=1
Change to 0 and save , try a few boots..
... Or you can install tlpui ( a GUI for tlp ) from "MX Package Installer" => Test Repo.

Re: system suspends after 10 minutes
changing those settings did not help;
Re: system suspends after 10 minutes
Does it happen from the standard MX-19.4 live USB? I see that you've installed an unofficial "respin" of MX, MX-19.4 Base created by @m_pav rather than one of the fully-supported versions. I'm curious whether the suspending issue happens with the regular version of MX-19.4.
Another idea: run MX Package Installer, expand the Kernels category in Popular Applications, and install a newer kernel such as Debian 5.10. After it's installed, select it to boot with in grub's advanced options submenu. If this solves the problem you can select it as your default kernel in MX Boot Options.

Re: system suspends after 10 minutes
... if still not, uninstall the xfce4-screensaver that might be interfering (which's also known to be causing other frustrating issues). (You can install light-locker if you need to lock the screen)
Re: system suspends after 10 minutes
I had the regular version and it does not happen on it; but for me is just a little to much a lot of apps that i'll never use, so when I found a plain version to me that's the way to go ; I really wish there was a light version so I could install only the the apps that I use; and now by uninstalling the screen saver I have no more problems ; thank you all for your help
