Once the correct version is in the repo, what will a user need to do?

I'm asking because there are users having the same problem and asking on Facebook.

So, this link though--it's not for MX16, only for M12/MX14?

No, it's a MX 15 package, but it is also fully compatible with M12/MX14. That's not the usual case for packages, but it applies for our repackaging of Firefox from the Mozilla binaries.

What is the recommended procedure now for those of us with non-working firefox on MX16-32?

I have the same pb and I've installed "firefox esr" (stable release) .

Also here. MX 16 32-bit. FF is not starting anymore. If i try to start FF as root ist says
translated from German:
line 15: /usr/bin/firefox: Can not run binary file. Failure in format or programfile.

Original message in German:
/usr/local/bin/firefox: Zeile 15: /usr/bin/firefox: Kann die Binärdatei nicht ausführen: Fehler im Format der Programmdatei

A working 32bit Firefox package should show up eventually as an update via the apt-notifier or Synaptic, though last I checked it looked like the broken package was still in the repo, until then you can download it from the link in Stevo's post here viewtopic.php?p=410013#p410013.

Posting this from the revived firefox in MX16-32 now.

I downloaded FF ESR for the time being.
