Then, Simply 58 percent Gray. I Think little better than liquid-metal.

description of intent

It looks like an inactive logo, but that's what I'm aiming for.
The logo becomes active in the splash, so I want it to be inactive before splash scene.

This already displays "Welcome to MX LINUX" near the logo,
so I've removed the MX LINUX letters in the logo.

PS.
By the way, I'm wondering where the background image comes from. Who is the author and what is the license?
If it is a public domain image for example, we are free to use it.

I wonder if we have a color version of the background... I was playing around with a colorization platform to see what options would look good.

I would not mind if from grub this would transition to a colored background when you log in.

What about something like this:

Just some ideas...

@Freja VERY nice ! Love it!

The image is inspired by a background that I downloaded years ago from freepik.com and is not a problem. The original image is flipped, then some restructuring, and then I started as it being my canvas. If you draw a line, top to bottom, half way across the image, the left is 95% my creation. The right, is approx 10% modified.

My intention, if we liked this graphic, was to redesign the starting background area to move it off the grub menu lines, and move the left side "points" over to the left a little as well, clean it up so the lines are not in contention with the menu. (I wanted to know if this was something we might like to use before going full on after it.)

The original background was from freepik which license states :
- For commercial and personal projects
- On digital or printed media
- For an unlimited number of times and without time limits
- From anywhere in the world
- To make modifications and create derivative works

I think the other way. A grub theme that is a plain Jane as the boot splash. Let the color pop in when a user logs in.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

I agree, grub should be very low key, even slightly less definition than the grey we have been working on. Then color and such after login.

But I love the colorized versions

OK, so here is the 'final' grub boot graphic, with the following done to it:
- MX Logo - 50% grey
- Background adjusted to get off the primary grub menu choice
- Clean up of a couple of things that bothered me.

Image

and here it is live with grub menu and timers etc...

Image

if Freja is good with it, and everyone else is.. I shall link the final. And if anyone see's something to improve - please just give a shout!

Thank you !
