Another bug > Mx Tools > Hide Individual Tools
Another bug > Mx Tools > Hide Individual Tools
Hmmmm. This seems serious. Please pay attention. Read before all my post.
Mx Tools > Hide Individual Tools from menu > Tick or Untick of it ask for password . A form pops up and ask for password.
No matter what password you furnish it is not accepted, This form is an On Top Form and block MX Linux. The first time I restarted MX forcibly by power button. No way to escape. The second time I was able after many wrong passwords to catch the follow form:
I will try to catch the first windows that ask for password and post.
Seems impossible to catch the first windows that ask for password and said: Incorrect Password ... try again , because this form captures all keys. A scrot script to capture screen needed. But the description of text is the same with text of posted screen.
Please team investigate it.

Re: Another bug > Mx Tools > Hide Individual Tools
this has already been fixed in an updated mx-tools. the function no longer requires a password.
in the original mx-tools, there was a loop that asked for the password over and over again. the password was actually excepted, its just that it was asking for every tool.
the updated mx-tools does not ask for password.

In the installed machine fully updated.Just a rechecked for updates.
In fact this machine was not in use for a roundly a month or something. Maybe I should check if the same problem happen in another machine that was in use.
Yes happens also in this machine.
It is this problem related or caused by updating of mx-codecs package (that I updated some moments ago -test package by Adrian )
Test package is here:
Code: Select all

yes on 18.3, if you don't have "save password for this session" checked in the gksu password popup dialog, you'll get asked for a password for each tool.

Re: Another bug > Mx Tools > Hide Individual Tools
Suggest we review, this "Hide tools" and instead of "hiding" the entries for all users, we do only hide for current user.
Which would be more flexible, as other user on a multi-user system might prefer to have the tools within the menu,
and further no root-access required.

I'm not 100% certain if the version of tools in 19 can be used on 18. I don't see why not actually.
