[SOLVED]Deafault screen resolution

#1 Post by balarm »

Some days ago i changed the screen resolution from 1400x1050, hz 60,0 to 1280x1024. When i rebooted i could login but i had a black screen.
How can I get the correct resolution again, what and where (folder) do i have to operate????
thanks!

Somehow you need to get access to "Display". The best way I can think of is to open a terminal (after login). F11 or Ctl-Alt-T from the desktop might open Terminal (I can't remember the default). In terminal enter:

Code: Select all

xfce4-display-settings
You should be able to make the change you need there.

And that program saves its changes here:

Code: Select all

~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/displays.xml
If you delete that file, it should revert to the default value on reboot.
