18.3 demo password
18.3 demo password
Running a demo of 18.3 from thumb drive,I ran into an issue when trying to update in terminal, and install pia from mxpi. If I wait for package mgr to notify me of updates, and use demo password, "root", it recognizes it as pass, and continues. But before I was notified of updates I opened terminal, and tried to update, it said the word, root, was incorrect. I also run into the same thing when I try to install pia from mxpi. near the end of install it asks for demo pass, and "root" won't work. It seems like I've ran into this before, but not all the time, because I've installed pia like this in the past.

Re: 18.3 demo password
Interesting. I don't think I ever completely read that welcome screen let alone use the "demo" password. I'm always in too much of a hurry to get rolling, so I just close it. I guess that makes me the nincompoop that didn't rtfm

Re: 18.3 demo password
yes demo, demo and root
Re: 18.3 demo password
It also has them on the download mirrors web page and section 2.4 of the manual, just for reference. Also, searching the forum for "default passwords" (without the quotation marks) will return two or three results that say what they are on the first page. I'm sure there are many more but I didn't keep going.
