For issues with MX that has been modified from the initial install. Example: adding packages that then cause issues.

[Solved]Horizontal line under Cairo Dock

#1 Post by lovelorn »

Hi There

I installed MX Linux last night and did some tweaks , installed some apps and a Cairo Dock
But when I open Cairo Dock , A horizontal line appears on my entire screen just like this :

Image

And when I close Cairo Dock , The HR line disappears ......

I thought it might be a graphics problem so I installed nVidia driver by MX nVidia installer
What I should I do to still use Cairo Dock , but get rid of this annoying line ?

You have a compositor setting that allows/creates/provides desktop/ panel shadows. Turn that off and your problem should disappear.

Thank You a lot , Sir
I removed compositor effect and now it's fixed .... Just can I ask You another question ?

I don't experience screen distortion any more , But last night when I was installing apps , On every installation , screen froze , App menu was opening up and screen distort for a while ..... Can that relate to GPU ?
