Is there a way to get history of applied updates?

For issues with MX that has been modified from the initial install. Example: adding packages that then cause issues.

Is there a way to get history of applied updates?

#1 Post by shellback »

MX-18 xfce system. I applied latest updates and a couple of things broke, that I know of. Namely sudo and cherry tree.

I didn't pay attention to what was included in the update so I can't research the cause of the problems.

Is there any way to get a history of the updates that I applied and to find out what was included?

Thanks

Right click on MX Updater, the wireframe box in the panel, and choose history. This will list upgrades using MXPI and Synaptuc, but not apps downloaded off the internet.

One way: Right-click on MX-update icon in the notification area (aka systray)
and click on "History" to show apt's update-log.

Please let us know what happened, as I'm interested in what broke sudo and cherrytree. Usually that kind of thing is the result of adding incompatible repos, such as ones for Ubuntu or upstream Debian, and creating a FrankenMX.

Good advice:
