Will MX17 have a KDE flavour?

For issues with MX that has been modified from the initial install. Example: adding packages that then cause issues.

Only a simple question. As MX16 had.

There was no official KDE version of MX-16, although a KDE 'spin' was made available on an as-is basis by a member.

I'm not aware of any plans for an MX-17 KDE version, although the Package Installer would allow you to run KDE yourself if you wanted to.

Hi Eduard: Bon Any Neu!

It wouldn't surprise me if some of our members put together a KDE community version at some time. They worked hard on making the KDE desktop available through the Package Installer useable.
Production: 5.10, MX-23 Xfce, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 16 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Personal: Lenovo X1 Carbon with MX-23 Fluxbox and Windows 10
Other: Raspberry Pi 5 with MX-23 Xfce Raspberry Pi Respin

Yes, I used the kde set of packets for MX15 (and following the advices of this forum: many thanks, Joany) but Stevo's Spain was more polished. Happens that I still miss Mepis (sigh)...
Thanks anyway for your advice.

Hi, Jerry, and happy New Year! A pleasure to chat with you again.
As said before, Stevo's spin was hard to beat, but think that Joany's directives still will work with Stretch.

The Package Installer version in MX 17 is pretty slick. Stevo and Paul worked on it and added features. It is well worth trying it.
