MX-16 with IceWM
MX-16 with IceWM
I searched for a long time, but did not find this modification. Icewm is the easiest desktop environment. Can anyone make a modification and put it on the torrents?

Perhaps you should try to install and configure it yourself before you ask.Klondiker wrote:I searched for a long time, but did not find this modification. Icewm is the easiest desktop environment. Can anyone make a modification and put it on the torrents?
I doubt there would be much demand; users wanting Icewm would surely just use antiX.

Boot antix, open Synaptic, do a search for icewm.
Lots listed
and a inxi -r would give you list as to where to start looking. Just a idea.

Re: MX-16 with IceWM
Better to just bundle up the configs that ship with antiX.
It's a great place to start. I have my own tweaks for my system.
The thing that always made me smile is how fast IceWM boots. :)
Installing now just to see that again.

Re: MX-16 with IceWM
As far as I know, only official releases of MX Linux (ie the XFCE version) are torrented.
An MX "Modified" release only happens where a member of the community is interested enough, of his/her own accord, to make one and share it as a community release. And where modified MX releases are made, they won't be on the official torrents anyway.

Re: MX-16 with IceWM
@ asqwerth. Fully agree. The official releases are of stable MX-Linux which install easily and run without problems on most hardware. I can understand individuals wishing to experiment but please do not have modified versions confusing the torrent system. I am quite happy to continue being a Seed for MX that has been properly developed and tested, but will certainly not support "MX Modified".

Re: MX-16 with IceWM
IceWM can be added using MX Tools Packages. It is an option under Window Managers. I haven't tried to add it myself but it is there if you want to try it.
Re: MX-16 with IceWM
Understandably. Then now I will collect my assembly Live cd in which will be supported by IceWM at the start.
