dude, unless you run your MX with GNU Guix, you're only half-way there.
Soon I will upload an MX-KDE .ISO respin with GNU Guix fully functional and distractions removed. This reproducible build system will be quite a gas!

Explain why guix package manager is so useful to MX and ask (nicely) if our package team can create a deb package for it. Or are you saving it for your own respin?

Guix.deb package
mate, a guix.deb package would be truely awesome. I guess it can be done. Please make sure the locale business is being taken care of, since with the binary guix install there are missing symlinks under $HOME/.guix... , I believe. If one can install a guix package without getting the dreaded "locale warning" ("cannot set locale") all is fine,
e.g.
guix package -i hello
with no warning about some locale problem.

Re: MX + KDE + GNU Guix = A marriage made in heaven
to find out about the usefulness of Guix please allow me to refer the the Guix homepage. It sure is a great leap forward when it comes to have reproducible builds, where the compiled binary program will have the exact same CRC for everyone who builds from a certain source-code.
The TorBrowser people had to struggle very hard to achieve this without guix. It involved a Ubuntu VM and all sorts of tedious operations. Guix just makes it so much easier!

Are you getting close to uploading this? If not do you have an approximate timeline?yop wrote:dude, unless you run your MX with GNU Guix, you're only half-way there.

But you don't upload the installation? You upload the iso? I am sure you made backups?
