Can't log in. Password not working.
Also noticed that the clock at top left corner is 6 hours behind my timezone
.....let us not lose heart in running the race.....

Do you have dual boot with Windows?
By default Windows sets the hardware clock to local time while Linux sets it on installation to UTC. Booting into Windows will change it back to local leaving you out of sync. Some websites won't let you log in if your computer is reporting the time too far off. Heck, you can't update from the repos if your clock is set to a time too far in the future.
