I wrote a tutorial (twice), was logged out whilst writing it?
Yesterday I spent some time writing a tutorial in this section of the forum. It took a while. When I went to preview it I was logged out. :(
So I logged in again, wrote a shorter version of the tutorial & the same thing happened.
I then logged in again & tried to write this post & it wouldn't let me?
So I went my merry way...
It seems to me that something is broken, as this is my second post today.
Any ideas?

Would writing it out beforehand in a text editor, then copypasting it in serve as a workaround?

That said, this one is as stable and administered as well or better than any of the numerous others I participate on.

$Easy way out for me.
I make a text file.
Do my code tags, quotes, and image urls in the text file.

Code: Select all
[quote] [url] [img] add the / in front of each to complete < can't show it here. it'll be a mess >
Copy and paste in my tutorial. Walla. Done in seconds. Never lost. Always found.
Some of mine

I aint too hip on why you got kicked out. Maybe some other mod knows why.
Made a mess of my post anyways.

Not sure what the problem is. I have not experienced it and I do not recall that it has been reported by any others.

Never been logged out of the forum as far as I remember. Do you have something (and add-on perhaps?) that clears cookies while you browse?

Have had something like this happen, was not logged out but when I changed pages briefly to check a detail, my draft disappeared. Avoid this now by using the Save draft option.
Backup: Dell9010, MX-19_B2, Win7, 120 SSD, WD 232GIB HD, 4GB RAM
Primary :Homebrew64 bit Intel duo core 2 GB RAM, 120 GB Kingston SSD, Seagate1TB.
MX-18.2 64bit. Also MX17, Kubuntu14.04 & Puppy 6.3.

That is a good option.Gordon Cooper wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 9:23 pm Have had something like this happen, was not logged out but when I changed pages briefly to check a detail, my draft disappeared. Avoid this now by using the Save draft option.
I also use a center button, (scroll wheel in my case), mouse click on the Forum Board Index Link, upper left under banner, which opens a new tab, then find the detail I want. This leaves the first tab post edit intact.
This is with Google Chrome, I assume other browsers can be set up this way as well with a center mouse button click

The firefox addon Textarea Cache can rescue you from those situations https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... area-cache

It happened earlier, may be 2 or 3 weeks before, but i think may be browser problem or network problem.
Now as you rise the issue, i think there may be some problem in forum software or web service.
I was using my mobiles browser(samsung web browser) then i even tried on my desktop, but it happened that time,
but now its normal, no problem. But i have to mention that i have not changed any thing before or after that in browsers setting.
But, after that i make a practice of copying the text before click on post, so if it logs out i can login and paste it.
May the web host service or developer of web application of forum look into it.
