Been checking frequently, suddenly no board is disfavored sign. Looks great!

The top looks squashed. Is that one of the things to address.

On my machine, the username column is too narrow.

yes Karen and I see that as well. No settings in ACP for that.

The Newest Posts space is huge. Will it stay that way?

It is a function of the number of top posters and posts showing currently set at 8. I think if the spacing is adjusted it will look better.

Also the announcement font looks too large to me. It overpowers the top banner.

The recents on the test site look OK. If we can make it look like that it would be fine.

Just landed here thinking, What the ...?
It is a significant change. Once I get turned right side up, things should start looking normal again :p
