Slow page loads on forum

#1 Post by kmathern »

Since Friday I've been experiencing slow page loads on the forum here.
It doesn't happen with every page load, but often enough that's it's getting to be annoying.
Is anyone experiencing the same?

No, haven't seen it. To me it seems a little bit faster than usual.

I cannot confirm it and I use three differen browsers, Pale Moon, Midori and Xombrero.
MX-14 on a Via Eden 1GHz CPU thin client, 3GB RAM, Via VX800 chipset, Via Chrome9 HC GPU, 32GB M.2 SSD;
btrfs with @ and @home subvolumes for MX-14;
added @antiX and @antiXhome subvolumes and copied antix 13.1 base into them, adjusting Grub from MX-14.

I usually use firefox, but just tried QupZilla and I'm also seeing the slow page loads with it.

I have generally bad experience with Qupzilla in Xfce. For me it works well only on LXQt.
As Midori is Webkit based as well as Qupzilla this cannot be the problem.

Yes!

I'm using Firefox ESR 38 on Debian 8.

What I've noticed is that pages load to about 75%, then stall. After a delay of 15 or 20 seconds they finish loading.

For example, the Board Index page loads as far as "Mark Forums Read," then stalls. After a delay it finishes.

This "Post a Reply" page I'm typing on now appeared to load, but I couldn't type anything until after a delay.

It (the MX Home link on the board index page -- http://www.mepiscommunity.org/mx) is also slow for me.
