Viewing Code

#1 Post by Gordon Cooper »

I'm having trouble reading the boxes of code included in posts. The text is faint - very. Does it have to be pale blue/grey?

I have the same problem. Currently I'm experimenting with changing the colors that are used by my Browser. A sample of one is attached.
Yes, even I am dishonest. Not in many ways, but in some. Forty-one, I think it is.

Here's what they use on the Debian forum: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?p=551566#p551566 (green text on white background)

Glad I'm not the only one. Not too sure about the red on black, although it's easy to read. Will also experiment.

Edit: Does anyone know which Style is being used here? There's a lot of options available for phpBB.

I'm sure it is in the ACP somewhere to which Richb and I have access. Will look, Rich may already know.

Looks like we are using Getaway for the overall style, but I don't see a detailed setting for something like code.

.
I'd be happier if when code is indicated it would call up geany if one has it,
and dislplay it that way. But I do have trouble with pale blue-gray.

Had quick look at php's site. Found one style with a comment about users being able to alter colours but unsure if that meant
individuals or forum administrators. Will look again when there's more time.

Edit: In another Topic, Lucky9 wrote "I've never had a problem keeping several Browsers around." That may be
an answer to this problem, set up another browser for the MX Forum with different display settngs.

the antiX boards at antix.freeforums.org allow users to set a theme that takes effect while logged in. My personal fav over there is a green and black theme. of course, the software probably isn't the same, but it sure looks similar.

It is Getaway. There are two other options that can be set by admin, prosilver and subsilver2. Peregrine needs to verify, but as I recall, not all the modifications we added to the forum software will run properly with these two other themes. Also I am not sure they are any better.,

For those having difficulty, there are several browser extensions to adjust color.

the antiX boards have a ton of user-selectable themes. This is a screen shot of mine. sure makes code easy to see.
