Re: dmesg errors and Thunar errors

Please try the suggestions I gave you before when you reported a similar problem. From the Live bootloader menu select F4 --> check md5. And so on. If none of that stuff works then I want to see the output of the dmesg command. Maybe you could post it on pastebin or attach it as a file here. For pas...

Re: MX-14 beta 2

During boot, there were some antiX messages about disabling or removing services, something like lean, leaner, leanest. Anybody wanna tell me what that's about? That is entirely to make the Live system boot faster and use less memory. It is controlled by the antiX= boot parameter which is explained...

Re: How it came down

The decision makes sense to me. The betas really are for people to do testing. We are pumping out betas very quickly. The amount of users we would get by people stumbling on the betas in the main menu is small and if they aren't going to come here and give us feedback, they won't be of much help to ...

Re: Testing live persistence

Do I need to always run the RemasterCC app to save all state (browser changes, blah blah), or just to save the installed apps? To save installed apps you need to use either root persistence (either Dynamic or Static) or RemasterCC. My comment above explains this in more detail. If you just want to ...

Re: Testing live persistence

I take it I could have set a gig or more persistence and it would have had much more room? I just used the defaults. The answer is a little tricky. There are 3 different answers depending on how you do things. Dynamic Persistence With normal (dynamic) persistence, filesystem changes are stored in R...

Re: Login beta2 without 'X' or login manager?

Thank you, I was only doing this as a temporary measure to view all the text onscreen when MX-14 boots. I use the boot parameter vga=795 which gives me 1280x1024 resolution in the virtual consoles which gives me enough room to display most of the startup messages. Then <ctrl><alt><F1> will switch y...

Re: MX-14 beta 2

For me, the MX-14_13.98_386-xfce.iso (beta-2, 2nd edition) LiveCD always starts up X even if I give it the boot parameter "3". I did not have this problem with the first beta release. Can anyone else replicate this?

Re: MX-14 beta 2

@Jon_J , that looks like a serious problem. You are getting segfaults and kernel crashes/freezes. This could be caused either by a hardware problem or a software problem or a combination. There are two easy things you can test with the Live media. First, use F4 -> Check MD5 from the bootloader. Whe...

Re: Patch for new B2

I have the patched ISO. Do you need the patched ISO uploaded to Linux Tracker?
