Re: Brother DCP-585CW Printer

Thank you for the replies. No one says that they are using a 585 and the comment from Open Printing is doubtful in describing it as a Black and White printer. The 585 is an Inkjet color machine with built in scanner. I have set it up with USB connection and although my desktop can see it, this 585 w...

Brother DCP-585CW Printer

Please is anyone successfully using a DCP-585CW with MX-19.4? One of my daughters has inherited a nearly new 585 and would hopefully be running it from 19.4 on a Dell Latitude E6510. I cannot provide the Basic System info' at present - don't have the computer for another day or so. So this is a gene...

Like srq2625 I would not make any assumptions, have a look and see what you have.

Also, I would reformat to ext4, it is a safe system.

Re: Got the shot

Also good to see that you folk are getting the shots. Here, less than 2% of NZ's total population has so far had both.
My age grouip (0ld fellas) is due to start next month. Maybe I will last until then??

Re: Editing video or Video editor

Supporting m-pav's comments on editing - I worked for several years producing audio-visual training programs, Before the days of generally used video, we worked with tape-slide, from the primitive versions that needed manual changing of slides to synchronised systems with auto-change projectors and ...

Re: Who says you can't come home?

This thread has me wondering about trying MX KDE. Originally (with some nudging from MPav) changed from Kubuntu to Mepis, then drifted on
to MX and stayed with the XFCE versions ever since. Have to think about about it......

Re: All-time record high temperatures here today in San Diego, and now fire

45.5 C - Heck! We think is is too hot in NZ when we near 34 C (93F). That time lapse is impressive and a bit scary. South Island here is getting over a 6,000 acre wildfire at present. Fortunately it snowed and rained dowsing much of the visible fire but it is continuing with the old buried timber an...
