Dell laptop won't boot from mSD card [Solved]
Many recent Dell Latitude laptops have the selectable option in the UEFI to boot from the mSD card slot. I decided to test that this works with MX Linux, using a Latitude 5420. I ran into a problem. After setting locale at the GRUB screen, the boot waits at the 'search for boot device' screen, then ...

Re: Upgrade MX19 to MX 23 request for advice [Solved]
Going from mx-21 to MX-23 can be problematic. Based on Facebook group members experiences, it only works about 50% of the time. I would absolutely not consider trying it from MX-19. It's likely a fresh install would actually be faster, given the time it might take to fix breakages.

Re: KDE Connect won't work
Perhaps it needs systemd? Try booting with that.
From the Wiki:
When the GRUB screen is displayed at the very beginning of the boot process, click on Advanced options… and select to use systemd. Use MX Boot Options to make this the default.

Re: laptop fan won't spin regardless of load [Solved]
Welcome to the forum.
As a first step, have a look in the BIOS/UEFI to see if there are any fan threshold settings. If it's set to 'quiet' by default, try another setting.

Re: Firefox 122.0 changed the Address and Search Bar backgrounds to grey - this is how to revert back to white
...and yet the Mozilla Knowledge Base has several articles explaining how to do this.thebookkeeper wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 4:58 pm
Officially, Mozilla does not support using the configuration editor (“about:config”) to change default settings or add custom style rules using a userChrome.css file or userContent.css file.

Thank you; it's been a minor annoyance for me since the change.
Would you be OK with me copy/pasting this to the MX Facebook group please? I will of course credit you.
