Re: warpinator?
Stevo, Excellent. I removed the flatpack with MXPI. I downloaded the .zip from that link, and double clicked it, and it installed after authentication. I set it up as normal, it recognized other computers on the network because I still have the MX23 firewall off. I transferred files both ways, and i...

Re: warpinator?
Thanks Stevo, Do I have to un-install the flat[pack first with the MXPI?
I don't want to screw this up, as I use warpinator a lot.

Re: warpinator?
BV206,
Wow, that is the exact information. Thanks.
I will check that out once I see if Stevo can get it in the regular package.
The flatpack and the regular versions seem to have different ways of dealing with the firewall.

Re: warpinator?
OK, I used the MXPI , in the flatpacks tab, to get warpinator installed. It worked, though couldn't see the other computers on the home network. This was not the default behavior in MX21 and 19. I had to turn the firewall off, then it works normally. I am behind a NAT router on a home network. I can...

Re: warpinator?
OK, thanks for the lead.
I'll check into that.
I never used the flatpacks before, due to the updating limitations, but I will try and install it.

warpinator? [Solved]
The only application missing from my MX23 install is warpinator.
It is one of those classic Linux programs, does one thing, and does it well.
I used it constantly on MX21, and now miss it, as it seems absent from the bookworm repos.
Can this useful search tool be packaged for MX23?

Re: MX-23 RC3 (Xfce) Feedback thread
On my RC3 install, I was so excited that fsearch was working, but no, still not running, gives this error when starting from the terminal OK, next level troubleshooting, synaptic tells me that I have libcanberra-gtk-module installed version 0.30-10 music@Ryzen2:~ $ fsearch Gtk-Message: 18:40:20.541:...

Re: MX-23 RC3 (Xfce) Feedback thread
OK, looks like complete success from my view. Installed flawlessly, I did all tweaks, everything working, even fsearch [glad to see it back in the repo for the MX23], in RC1 [updated installer], fsearch would not run, giving an error, I was just going to post it, but I saw the RC3 announcement. It w...

you're in a safe space, in the hands of people you can rely on and depend on Yes, this is my experience with MX, a group of developers and forum members you can depend on. OK, I downloaded the RC3, md5 was good, burned to the same 4G stick used for earlier tests with the MX live USB maker, ...
