MX doesn't bind F12 to open CD as far as I know and both Yakuake and Guake have F12 as the default key, I think it's wise to keep the same default key for the same function, it's bad for similar programs to each define a different hot key.

I see that all the translations are at 100% I think I forgot to run lupdate, can you do a git pull and reupload the files please?

It does adds a small icon in the system tray, you could click on that.I do like a drop-down terminal with a launcher, though. Maybe other folks do, too.

I agree, let's use though F12 because that's kind of standard for both yakuake and guake.I like this so much that I am going to propose it as default for MX-15.

Holly-molly! I am a heavy user of yakuake and now guake, I didn't know I have such a nice feature available by default in Xfce.

I changed the default labels to "rootMX' and "homeMX" and made them non-translatable, root and home should probably not be translated.

I'm not sure about that, that's the label that's added to the disk, so people would know if that's the partition created by MX-15 (or at least installed in 2015)
