Re: Viewer for .avif images (SOLVED)

You built qt-heif-image-plugin for MX-17 and I updated it for MX-21 & MX-23. It's in Main. Nomacs in MX already depends on it.
Updating it to the latest version doesn't fix the AVIF alpha-limited problem. Guess I need to look at libavif16...

Stevo wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2024 6:54 pmThere's also a similar unpackaged heif plugin is specifically mentioned by nomacs. Its source includes a debian folder, so MX packaging appears easy..also using your newer heif.
Could you please point me to that as I've not seen it anywhere?

Re: Viewer for .avif images (SOLVED)

The problem is that libheif1 (which depends on a newer libwebp) & libavif are all too old in bookworm to support decoding of alpha-limited encoded avif files. The flatpak version must have those updates included. I have backported libheif1 & libwebp for MX-23 and they will be available short...

Re: Error installing or upgrading [Solved]

Where did you get the appimagelauncher package that dpkg is complaining about? It's not in the MX-19 or Debian buster repos.

Re: Unknown error mounting hard disks partitions sdb1, sda1

The problem with ntfs under Linux is that Microsoft will not release detailed specs or source code. The clean room reimplementation the Linux ntfs driver uses is as safe as they can make it - but without the full specifications it's inevitable there will occasionally be an error - heck, Windows occa...

Re: MXPI: package "wine-mono8" not updatable?

Wine-mono is a free implementation of MS Windows .NET Framework. This enables Wine to run Windows programs that rely on it - but because it's Windows, it doesn't follow Linux versioning rules. .NET dlls in Windows have to co-exist with other versions of .NET in the same install because new versions ...

Re: I cant install my-weather-indicator

My-Weather-Indicator 0.10.13 is now available in the MX-23 main repository.

We missed updating it as the prior maintainer left the MX team. Oddly, apart from the developer's Ubuntu PPA, MX & AUR (Arch User Repository) are still the only extant packages of My-Weather-Indicator.

Re: Segfault

xfce4-docklike-plugin 0.4.2 has been uploaded to the MX-23 Test repository.
Please install it (MXPI MX Test Repo tab), Log out and back in (or reboot) and see if the segfaults go away.

Re: Segfault

Those segfaults indicate the xfce4-docklike-plugin is trying to access memory incorrectly.
I see that xfce4-docklike plugin has a new version that fixes some memory leaks they discovered.
Stay tuned. I'll build an updated package to see if it fixes this issue.

Re: Requires WIN 10 1703 or later

Well, Linux is not Windows so not directly. That company does have a Linux beta version of the latest, Studio One 6.5, but only for Ubuntu using the Wayland graphics stack. It might work in MX if you modify it to use Wayland - but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't. You should be able to get it wo...
