Re: What to do after installing?

Adding KDE is certainly not general good advice for someone who has just installed MX Linux! Agree. The thing to do after installing is to explore the system. Become familiar with all the MX Tools. Read the manual. Make MX your own visually, icons, theme and the like. Make a snapshot with MX Snapsh...

Re: Systemd free MX19?

Re: Systemd free MX19?

If I look at the survey from April 16th viewtopic.php?f=94&t=49723 it doesn't seem to be a big problem. 89% use sysVinit, that's an overwhelming majority. So why suddenly these many votes for systemd? Not a big surprise since sysvinit is the default option. It does not ask " what init system would ...

Re: Zombieload

I respect your opinion. The script is in our repos so easily available to new users. It also has explanation abilities for the output. In my opinion it brings the information closer to ease of use and understanding for the average user. Both methods, however, probably raise more questions than answe...

Re: Zombieload

I do not think the spectre-meltdown-checker is silly. beargdragon had his running script when in post #25.

Re: Looking for Advice to Secure MX Linux Installation

Check the Users Manual, Section 1.7, for our position on this. That explanation might have made sense before 2017 when a lot of site were still using it, but many of those sites have since moved to HTML5 and popular browsers like Firefox and Chrome disable Flash by default. Adobe is ending support ...

OK, try this link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1LWm3S ... JxftAR--YK_
same error. It is an odd thing that phpBB does, truncating long url's. To get around it use the method I posted

Code: Select all

 [url=the actual url]desired describing text]/url
