In my case executing the command export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct has given better overall results. Some apps still do not follow the font settings but most do. To execute manually:

In terminal to trim root partition
sudo fstrim -v /

For home partition
sudo fstrim -v /home

I would do it weekly.

But check your trim.log in /var/log. It may execute weekly when yo turn your machine on. The trim.log will show when it is executed.
