IMO you should be focusing on returning your system to a stable state. In other words remove the sid & experimental packages you accidentally installed. Get your sources straightened out (sid & experimental disabled or removed, wheezy-backports enabled). Then retry installing Stevo's ardour...

So what you're saying is... should be focusing on Ardour 3 for Mepis 12 (and/or MX)!

I only see Ardour 3 in the sid & Jessie repos (https://packages.debian.org/source/sid/ardour3). I would check to see if you enabled sid or Jessie when you enabled all the Debian repos, and disable them if they are enabled. (and hopefully you haven't pulled in a bunch of sid & Jessie package...

Update... set all the debian repos to 'enabled' and reset the apt:cache to like 6000000. After doing that, libaubio4 installed... and Ardour subsequently thereafter.
