Re: Kernel panic when booting from live USB [Solved]
Adrian, I'm no expert in kernel panics. I just thought what happened to me might be the same as or similar to what happened to the MX user who started this thread. With reliable, steady MX, everything always goes well for me every day for years and then suddenly, out-of-the-blue, something bizarre o...

Re: Kernel panic when booting from live USB [Solved]
Minutes ago I started up my desktop tower computer from the HDD as I always do and had some weird activity: some box appeared first which I've NEVER seen before. I think that box wanted me to pick something but it disappeared soon and more bizarre behavior occurred. Somehow I opened up Pale Moon jus...

Re: Synaptic: history missing even though I have history selected [Solved]
you used synaptic to install the packages? Yes, I did. What should I have done? What should I have used instead? You imply that no one else is using synaptic to install packages. Yes? By doing what I did, did that cause the loss of synaptic history? If using synaptic didn't cause this absence of sy...

Synaptic: history missing even though I have history selected [Solved]
I've updated/upgraded and installed various packages but when I look at Synaptic history, only a single date from last month (Oct. 2023) shows up-- I installed various packages new to me today. Under Synaptic preferences, I do have history selected so I wonder why there's really no history for me to...

Re: Arial font. Where will I find it? [Solved]
I mentioned here that I used that one in the past with MEPIS but I think it was first called msttcorefonts or something like that. And then the name changed to the one you wrote about.Eadwine Rose wrote: ↑Thu Oct 19, 2023 2:25 am I've got this one installed: ttf-mscorefonts-installer
I think that is the one.

Yes, thanks Eadwine. I used that often many years ago with MEPIS. I think it has a bunch of fonts in it.

Arial font. Where will I find it? [Solved]
I'm seeking the arial font which I heavily use. There are so many font packages in Synaptic I don't know where I'd find arial.
Kindly tell me.
[In case it matters, I run MX23_KDE.]
Thanks

Re: Just installed MX23_KDE. Synaptic wants my USER password, not my root password. Why? [Solved]
MXRobo, I figure I did do that. I know that in the installer, I entered in some space a username and a username password and I created a root password. I think I did check the box for autologin but I'm the sole user of my desktop tower computer.
Thanks MXRobo for that swell image from your MX system!
