It happens that I have two of these computers that are identical except I put a larger hard drive in the other one.
I get the same behavior on that one as well.

Did that. This computer is not saving the previous state in MX 17.
MX 16.1 is saving it. That is what I can't figure out.

Agreed. I think the first was most likely user error except I have no idea how I got that message.

What I am seeing is those numlock settings don't seem to be working on this machine like I would expect.

Mepis has been mentioned and the time it takes to download MX over dial up. For most of the time that I used Mepis I was on dial up. I always found it much easier to buy Linux Cd's online when I was on dial up. I would use Mepis until the next version came out on CD then order the next one. Those of...

If you go into localhost:631 you should find in there different possible addresses for the printer.
I think you just have an error in the printer address.
That is the most common error I run into.
