Re: How do I put MX_Linux onto my Lenovo ThinkPad (E15 Gen 3) ?

Thanks again, everyone, for the help. It has been a learning experience. I finally caved and sent the laptop to a computer specialist and he did a clean install of MX_Linux. Now I have a lot of reinstalling to do, like Gimp. But that is actually fun. I believe GIMP comes preinstalled on MX, doesn't...

Re: No sound with my enigmatic Pentium Silver HD Audio

A quick web search for your soundcard in Linux turned up https://askubuntu.com/questions/1237007/driver-for-intel-corporation-atom-celeron-pentium-processor-x5-e8000-j3xxx-n3xxx which suggests adding this boot parameter right before "quiet splash": i915.disable_power_well=0 which IIRC you ...

Re: screen resolution theme changing in new 21.2 (ahs) install [Solved]

Another thing that might be happening is that your display manager might be re-detecting the monitor each time you unlock your session. What I would try is (assuming you have Xfce not KDE) go to Settings/Display, click the Advanced tab (after setting it to the correct resolution on the General tab),...

Re: Internet Connection issue

Well, one: you're using an outdated (though still supported) version of MX. You should really be using MX-21AHS. Two: if your MX-19 installation has been in use for a long while there's probably a lot of cruft on the system just like you eventually get with any OS. Three: you've left your MX Test an...

Would need your Quick System Info to help you with that. It may be different in KDE than in Xfce.

The older 3.3.X version with the GUI has been renamed as woeusb-wxgtk...I could port that to MX 21 if anyone wants that.
@Stevo Yes please.

Re: How to install custom ISO over the internet?

Though it's very popular for enterprise computing, where IT may want to install the OS on a thousand new machines at once. I was thinking in terms of an end-user's home computer. In enterprise computing they'll have the image on their own server and have IT people go from machine to machine and ini...

Re: How to install custom ISO over the internet?

Network installation of an operating system is a very bad idea even if it could be done. If you lose connectivity in the middle of the installation you're left with a bricked computer and no reboot/install disk to use to recover.
