Re: Making a live USB
Not the machine, i'm having the same problem trying to update my wife's laptop with MX-19.4_July_x64. Can't figure it out because I had no trouble converting both machines over from Windows to MX originally, both those installs were done by burning the MX17 ISO to DVD, but that's failed with both ma...

Re: Making a live USB
I'm using the dd option with MX Live USB Maker, I've also hit a fatal error after burning the ISO (MX-19.4_386) to a DVD. My machine is an old Dell Inspiron 530, currently running MX 18 but wanted to upgrade it to MX 19.

Making a live USB
What memory size USB is needed to make a live USB for installing a new copy of MX?
I've been trying using a 2GB USB as the ISO is 1.8GB, but it won't boot my machine.

Trying to boot from a USB that I burned MX 19.4_386 to, set BIOS to boot from USB first but all that happens is that I get the above error message and system proceeds to boot from hard drive?

Re: Recover non UDF format DVD's
dvdisaster appears to be for recovering damaged discs, all I can establish with it is that the disc isn't damaged in any way.
File manager simply sees the disc as blank because it doesn't recognise the format.

Recover non UDF format DVD's
I've got 6 DVD's that contain material transferred from old VHS and Super 8 tapes, I made them when de-cluttering and used a DVD player/recorder to write them to DVD-RW. Now I no longer have that player/recorder i find that I can't play the discs using VLC, or any other player, just get non-UDF erro...

Re: MX19 install failure
After I clicked the Hash button I got long alphanumeric strings appear in Digests but I have no idea what that means?

You can simply right-click in Thunar => Properties => Digests tab
