Re: Remote Access Software

I think we are on a similar wave length @razor2021. As much as I am willing to be a beta tester, I am not willing to potentially breech my security all for the name of free etc. I prefer something with a bit more track record at this point.

No Machine users? https://www.nomachine.com/everybody

Saw this one suggested elsewhere too. RustDesk https://rustdesk.com/

I will also revisit AnyDesk. I couldn't get it to work before due to both network configuration at my end & the other party's end.

Remote Access Software

What do you all use for remote access software? FYI Teamviewer just eliminated the free single user account option.
I was using it to help my tech clueless relative. Now I need to find a suitable replacement. Has anyone here tried HoptoDesk? https://www.hoptodesk.com/

Mini PC with Mx Linux

Wondering about hardware compatibility of Nuc's etc with Mx Linux. I know Starlabs have laptops for sale with Mx Linux but I don't want to import Pc from Europe at this point. I am in Canada so either Canadian or Usa options considered. I would like a Mini PC profile over a Laptop since I would like...

Nvidia 340 series driver issues.

Running against wall for DVR application. I have the required nouveau drivers installed. They work for the most part except for the new drm changes. I also have other video cards running on win 10 that don't exhibit the same problem post drm changes. See https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi...

Re: Upgrading Nvidia card

After a deep dive I found that the 470 series linux drivers will work with newer cards I am eyeing. Now I just need to find a card that will work with the rest of the hardware.

HI, I am hoping to breathe some new life into my desktop pc. My current card uses the 340 series drivers which I read here was retired with the end of Buster. What can I update it to that will give me a longer life with supported drivers? I have an Asus P6X58D Premium MOBO. Best case scenario I can ...

Re: What old beast are you proudly running MX Linux on ?

I am still running an old Dell Latitude D830 with Mx Linux 19.4 & my build own pc desktop with Intel Core i7 920 x58 chipset on KDE 21.1 & Win 10 dual boot. My desktop maybe on the way out unless I can solve potential overheating. * I suspect the Nvidia GTS 250 card. These are from 2005 - 20...

Upgrading Thunderbird

Hi, After finding that my favorite addons are gone in Thunderbird 78, what are my options moving forward? I noticed that 91 is offered via test repo & what about 102? I know that 102 is basically a beta & the only way to get it is directly from Thunderbird organization. What are my best opti...

Re: Boot Option not allowing for a change of background image

I may have corrupted something. Will do a fresh install to see if issue is still present. I was attempting to use the Gradient_Glow_Blue packages.
