Re: gnuCash 5.4 request ... [Solved]

There is a bug in version 5.5 that is now in test that affects Linux if you use reminders for scheduled transactions since last run. https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=799179 I just have a couple of scheduled transactions that are created automatically and it's working fine for me, but you may...

Re: Request MX-23: speedtest-cli

Coincidentally I installed speedtest-cli for MX-23 using the MX Package Installer yesterday from the Enabled Repos tab.

It's working fine, unless I'm missing something?

Just to add: WeeWX is a free, open source, software program, written in Python, which interacts with your weather station to produce graphs, reports, and HTML pages. It can optionally publish to weather sites or web servers. It uses modern software concepts, making it simple, robust, and easy to ext...

Re: How do I update Thunderbird?

Thank you. I am still not absolutely sure that automatic updates or automatic upgrades can't come from the MX test repo. Do you know if we have some written documentation about it.? No, but as Eadwine Rose said, The MX Package Installer does this automatically, enabling and disabling the test repo....

Re: How do I update Thunderbird?

As long as you download from the MX Test Repo in the MX Package Installer, no problem, the Test Repo isn't permanently enabled. The only problem I see is, since the Test Repo isn't enabled, you won't get automatic updates to Thunderbird, you have to go back to the Test tab to download newer versions...

Re: How do I update Thunderbird?

As far as I'm aware there really wasn't a version in between 78 and 102 that was compatible to both. I could be wrong, and it would be kind of a curious thing, especially considering there is such a huge jump in version numbers, and it would seem to go against convention. But I think that is why MX ...

Re: How do I update Thunderbird?

If I recall, the newer versions weren't backwards compatible with the older versions, so if you tried a newer version and had problems you were stuck. Along with the usual add on extension issues with newer versions. Seems that eventually MX may have to make the jump?

Re: Including Redshift in the XFCE version of MX Linux

In regards to the geoclue plugin, when I was playing around with XeroG w/kde (arch), I noticed that there was a 'fakegeoclue' substitute specifically for those concerned with privacy. I can't remember the exact name of it nor could I find it online after re-installing MX. Is this it; https://github...

Re: Vote for Best Linux Distro

I voted for MX. I figure that having briefly used one other distro when I first started using Linux five years ago before switching to MX qualifies me to know what the absolute best distro in 2022 was. (I guess if MX is the only distro I use it must be the best for me, and the rules do seem to allow...
