Re: BTRFS retored subvolume snapshot -> to layer 5
Again I want to use my current state, not revert to old one. from: @/.snapshots/280/snapshot /.snapshots /*/etc to: @/.snapshots/ and in the end just delete ALL numbered snapshots under: @/.snapshots/**** that are not the current one. options like sync copy move etc, from cli at boot might be bette...

Re: Booting USB-live-System: UIP: Was not able to install 82 packages
Perhaps a general comment: It is better to provide QSI "Quick System Info" right from the start, instead of assuming from error messages that some tools do not work. I have tried to do this. But the problem was, how do I get the QSI from my live system into the MX-19 working system so tha...

Re: Booting USB-live-System: UIP: Was not able to install 82 packages
My fear was, that when I use the partition of the LiveSystem for the persistence files, that then theses file will be part of my working system after the installation. This would fill the storage space without any benefit. So I thought, maybe it's better to use a separate partition on the USB-Stick...

Re: MX 23.2 normal user not allowing any root access apps to run or execute.
Well I checked the downloaded iso file and it all checks out with the checksums. I decided to dd the iso to usb stick and it all worked fine. I tested the installed system that I was able to install with the DVD and it works fine. I tested the live DVD 3 times and 3 times the pol-kit crashes. Somet...

Re: Booting USB-live-System: UIP: Was not able to install 82 packages
I was not aware, that there are Repos disabled. What I did after booting from USB-Stick, was ... – to open the MX Repo Manager – tab "debian repos" – select fastest debian repo for me You realy do not need to change debian repos, b/c the pre-enabled ones are already behind debians deb-met...

Re: Booting USB-live-System: UIP: Was not able to install 82 packages
8. It looks like the Live-system-partition is the only partition that can be used as "persist_static". (It looks like I can not use sdd3) Yes, you don't get offered to "select" a persistence device when enabling persistence, b/c you would need to "tell" the LiveSystem ...

Re: Question to Live kernel updater [Solved]
What difference does it make between just installing the new kernel from the MX package installer and then remaster to then also use the live kernel updater is it just so it also works in non persistent mode or something or is there more to it? In theory it may work if the new kernel is only on the...

Re: grub das not recognise 2nd harddisk in expansion slot
Now I have tried to configure grub so that I can choose when switching on the computer whether I want to boot from the built-in hard drive or from the caddy (temporary drive). That's not GRUB you select from. B/c grub will only see what BIOS send to GRUB. On BIOS/MBR booting you select boot device ...
