Re: VPNs and MX

I have been using Astrill VPN for the past 3 years. SystemD not required. It also has a graphical installer which makes it easy to install. None to little speed hit.

Re: Printer problems

In my experience the HP printers won't print using the stock MX Linux image viewer. Try installing a different image viewer like Mirage or some other one that is not the stock MX Linux image viewer. Once it prints remove the stock MX Linux viewer.

Re: Intel Rapid Storage mount on MX Linux

I am running a RAID10 and went through all the trouble. Since you have an ASUS motherboard you need to check to see if you have a hardware RAID or a software RAID like my motherboard has. Does the RAID drive show in Gparted and if so, what size?

Re: Not safe.

You too, eh? Even though I'm more disabled than retired. I've seen 4WD trucks with little highway tires before, but not that extreme. Living in Colorado, I never saw the sense of putting highway tires on a 4X4, but then "sense" is getting kinda rare... :lion: Yes, to make it short. I have ne...

Google is not doing that for safety. Google is doing that because it interferes with it's spying. Google can't be trusted. Google is worse than the NSA with their spying because at least the NSA doesn't sell your data that they stole from you unlike Google who sells people's data.

I suggest you download from one of the mirrors closest to you and make sure you check the checksums and signature afterwards. https://mxlinux.org/wiki/system/iso-download-mirrors

Re: New Linux user, mx good for start?

I actually have poured gasoline on a computer and incinderated it, after bashing it to pieces with a hammer. I was really ticked off that horrible day, when the computer simply refused to do anything I asked. You exist to do what I say, you @#$%ing piece of %$#$@. If you won't do what I say, you ha...

Re: Newbie Here

After trying multiple distros, one of the best things about MX is this forum. Another good forum, which is also low on flaming, is "linuxquestions.org" Beware those forums where they spend most of their time complaining that some body else already posted/answered your question, and don't answer it....

Re: New Linux user, mx good for start?

Well, that is assuming you don't manually enable or disable repositories on your own accord. ;) We also assume you don't pour gasoline over your computer and set it on fire. :hot: No, but it sounds like this person poured gasoline into a diesel computer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uC68YZ_P9zQ
