MX 21! AMAZING!

Hello! I've been away from the forum for quite a long time because of my job. Still, I come here once in a while. I just want to tell the community and developers that I am very impressed with MX-21 Beta 1. It ran like a champion on two Dell Inspiron laptops (14 3000 & 15 3000) that refused to b...

Re: Linux virus named "Evil GNOME!"

Apparently, you need to use the Gnome DE and then go out of your way to download the virus and install it. The comments were pretty funny.

Re: Installing MX on my HP Laptop

I think the nightmarish experience of the OP is totally legitimate. I had a very similar experience with an HP laptop. At the end, antiX was the only distro that worked. Here is the thread about my own issues: https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=47678&p=477612#p477612 If the OP i...

Re: Which software/apps do you use most on MX?

This is quite an interesting topic! I use these apps: Daily: Firefox, LibreOffice (mainly Writer and Calc), Compiz, Thunar, iBus. Frequently: Kolourpaint, VLC, Steam, OpenShot, Showfoto, Synaptic, MX-Snapshot, MX-Live USB Maker, Ark, Galculator. Sometimes: Gimp, LO Impress, Atomic Tanks, the termina...

Re: Snapshot is great!!!

Snapshot has saved me lots of time and trouble when it comes to installing MX. Just today, I made a snapshot of my mother's system, just in case. And I've seen how it has become easier to use, even with more features added! Thanks a lot, developing team!

Re: Libreoffice defaults to A4 regardless of locales

The fix should meanwhile be available as an update. You can check that it works: eg. select Spanish for Costa Rica (es_CR.utf8 ) at login you'll have as default papersize "letter" within LO and also default papersize for the printer. And if you e.g, select Spanish for Bolivia (es_BO.utf8)...

Re: Freedom is the key to success with any distro

Honestly, I haven't found any more freedom than in here, not to mention the great devs and community that are always willing to help. With MX I can do anything I want, from changing its appearance (not a fan of flat icons and not very fond of XFCE) to actually create a snapshot of the system adjuste...
