hello snowieplays
install printer.
my favorite thing it says in the manual = "right-click is your friend!"
remember the old days of clicking on every single thing to see what it does? do that. and right-click too.
Welcome to MX.

Go into MX Tweak, Theme it and set it up the way you like it.
I am command line illiterate.

Agreed - install KDE via MX Tools, MX Package Installer, Desktop Environment - KDE5 Standard ....
It will keep one amused for eons plus it is very stable, und good looking, tons of gingerbread

If you want to see some amazing desktop effects, you could install and run Compiz.
Or get wrapped up in customizing the Conky desktop widgets forever and ever, until your family runs an intervention.

Adding KDE is certainly not general good advice for someone who has just installed MX Linux!

Agree. The thing to do after installing is to explore the system. Become familiar with all the MX Tools. Read the manual. Make MX your own visually, icons, theme and the like. Make a snapshot with MX Snapshot both as a learning experience and a useful recovery tool.

Of course, one could ignore the manual, the wiki and the documentation, always boot with systemd, add Ubuntu and other PPAs, then leave a low rating on Distrowatch when one's MX goes to aitch ee double-hockeysticks in a handbasket afterward. It's been done before.
Please read How To Ask For Help and How to Break Your System.
MX User Manual: hold down ALT and press F1. Further information may be found in the MX Wiki.

Agreed +3. I tried adding KDE to MX once and, while it works and is nice to have the freedom to do it, I didn't enjoy the mishmash of multiple programs in the menu all doing the same thing. So messy and unwieldy!
IMHO, MX does Xfce really well and likely better than any other distro. Adding any other DE just spoils it.
