I have two computers running MX 17.1 64 bit. The first one(desktop) I have been using for some time. The second (laptop) I just installed yesterday and ran the updater so that everything should be up to date.
I want to install claws-mail on the laptop. It is already installed on the desktop. Synaptic on the desktop shows claws-mail at version 3.17.1, and that is what is installed. When I run synaptic on the laptop, it shows claws-mail at 3.14.1. I have tried reloading symantic, but that makes no difference.
What do I need to do to get symantic to install the latest claws-mail on my laptop?

Synaptic Question
Re: Synaptic Question
In synaptic, click on Edit, then click on Reload Package Information. Once that completes, click on Mark All Updates and then click on Apply.
I think that you used the standard iso rather than the monthly snapshot to do the install on the laptop and as a result have some outdated packages (not just clawsmail).
If this has no effect, I think you should compare the repositories you have enabled on the desktop with those for the laptop and make any necessary adjustments.

Re: Synaptic Question
Version 3.17.1 is in the test repo of MX Package Installer.
Re: Synaptic Question
Yup:
Mark it [SOLVED].
Why the second machine got the test repo enabled is another groovy mystery, though. Jinkies!

Re: Synaptic Question [SOLVED]
You are correct, the test repo was enabled on the desktop machine. Thanks all!
