Curious.
I installed googleearth about a month ago from the MX repo.
googleearth-package-1.2.2 which downloaded and installed
version 6.0.3.2197+1.2.0-1 for MX-17.1_x64.
Just checked and there is no version available in MX test repo?

It runs generally well; as I remember, it gave an error
saying that some function I didn't need was not available.
There's no update to the 1.2.2 googleearth-package that we have in Stretch in upstream Debian, and now it looks like it might be dead, anyway.

If you use a previously installed Google Earth 6.0.3, you'll now get a warning from Google that it will stop working Oct. 31, too.

Yep.
Downloading the new, google-earth-pro-stable_current_amd64.deb
about 53 MB, for Debian/Ubuntu from Google.

We'll soon see how that is going to work.

Well, it installed OK.
Started OK.
I'm going to have to do some reading to make it useful.
Probably needs more horsepower.

Posting from my laptop, which I'm just setting up in MX17.1.

Came back to this post, added the repository I mentioned earlier in this thread, and installed Google Earth Pro. It appears to run like a champion, with an AMD E1 processor and 4Gb RAM. So it's a case of changing the repos to match or adding it as an option in MX Repo Manager.
