Oh, that is nice! A rainbow-colored MX logo on a dark background, made entirely of lorem ipsum text. I may just have to use that one if I can rescale it to 1280x1020 for my monitor without it distorting the logo or text.

Lorem Ipsum good color shades. I had a text idea like this once upon a time. when the number of forum members was half what it is now i tried putting a list of the usernames to fill the background. it was more names than could be fit onto the 1900x1200 background. even with the smallest font. it looked pretty cool but not all the names would fit.

A rainbow-colored MX logo on a dark background, made entirely of lorem ipsum text. I may just have to use that one if I can rescale it to 1280x1020 for my monitor without it distorting the logo or text.

You can download the original which is 1920 X 1200 and open with GIMP pre installed in MX. Click on crop tool in left tool bar, in button left part in tool options, There is a option of fixed size, manually enter your desired size, so it will keep the aspect ratio fixed. Drag on canvas the area you want to crop, and that’s it, In file menu click export as or replace.

I hoped that everyone would download it to find their name and be a bit proud at the same time. Settled with the idea that leaving a name off the background was potential for more harm than good. In Your style the usernames of developers and heaviest contributors could comprise the pyramids and X, WarrenWoodford at the base of the pyramids, and usernames to fill the rest of space; like ascii art. (Though random will not step on any toes.) My approach was alphabetic. usernames. avatars change.
Showing a partial view of unicode character map is also idea. It also is too large to be readable on a 1900x1200 background, but leaving a part off is not potential to hurt a person's feelings.
You struck a nerve here with Your text idea, as you see.
You can always claim that a missing username "it must have been covered by the MX logo"
