Please translate tsplash on Transifex

#1 Post by Old Giza »

Hello translators,

There is a new resource tsplash that needs translating on Transifex. It would be great if you could give this your attention by Friday. Only 7 very short strings.

Thank you!

Thank you all! This was for the new live splash screen and I wanted to make sure my translation code was working during that early boot process when most standard tools are missing. I downloaded your translations and they are working. This should show up in the next antiX-19 test release which should come out real soon now.

PL done

Edit:

One question: Is 'Create %1s swap file' means something like 'Create /dev/sdb1 swap file' or 'Create 2GB swap file' or something else? (it is important for word order in a sentence in Polish).

It is "create 2GB swap file". I will add a comment that shows this. Thanks for the question!

edit: I added the comment and a new string (due to a request from d.o.) . The comment:

Code: Select all

#. Create <size> swap file

Ok, so, the next question about new string 'console login'

Is 'login' meaning here (definitions from dictionary):

a) a name that you enter in order to be able to use a computer system

or

b) a place on a screen that you click (= press) in order to start using a computer system (my description: the act of logging in)

I hope a picture is worth a thousand words. This is what the console login screen looks like:
login.png
When you go there it will ask you for your username and password. Then you will get to the command line. This is for the case when X does not start automatically.

Ok, if I understand correctly, string "console login" appears on some earlier screen and directs (links) to a console login screen.

In the other words, it is about act of logging into the system and not about username.
