[Solved] Translation of "compiled-in"

#1 Post by Zeh »

I'm translating the encryption part recently included in the gazelle installer. Searched quite a bit but couldn't get a sound understanding of what "complied-in" means in the string «A value of 0 selects the compiled-in default (run cryptsetup --help for details).» so that I can make a translation I feel adequate.
Will appreciate any help.

Another way of saying it in English could be "built-in", or it could just be the "default value".

So, the concept is the default is compiled simultaneously with the system, if I got it right. Can I translate it as "integrated" or "included"?

Thanks. It's helpful for me too.
What about mS? Does it stand for milliseconds? In that case that should be ms.

Is it possible to translate it as "hard-coded" or something of the sort? "Integrated" or "included" isn't far off, but what I mean by "compiled in" is the default values that cryptsetup will use if nothing else is specified either in a configuration file or via the options mentioned. Basically these are the default values as originally coded into the program. I hope that helps clarify this a bit more.

Also, "mS" = "milliseconds." I've seen that in both "ms" and "mS" and (rather wrongly) "MS" (megaseconds???). Probably "ms" is better now that I think of it, because "mS" is "millisiemens" and as we all know, the most secure systems conduct electricity. :lion:

compiled-in = compiled
It is an integrated part, included.
Thinkpad T430 & Dell Latitude E7450, both with MX-21.3.1
kernal 5.10.0-26-amd64 x86_64; Xfce-4.18.0; 8 GB RAM
Intel Core i5-3380M, Graphics, Audio, Video; & SSDs.

In the International System of Units, s is the abbreviation of second, hence my comment.
