It would be great If shift-delete just permanently deleted

Instead of asking you If you are sure. Why would I have clicked on the shift button If I wasn't sure, it's just an extra unnecessary step IMO.

That's been complained about for a very long time on the Xfce Forum, and it would apparently require recompiling Thunar from source. If you want to try that yourself, this might be a good place to start:

I'm too worried about changing code myself. And what happened if it updates? Does it update to my non coded version?
I'm assuming these things are extremely time laborious for admins/maintainers, I just wish I could do something to help out.

I mean, I could just use copy and paste. I've got nothing to lose right? It's not gonna mess up my thunar?

You can do all sorts of things to make Delete be 'forever'. I add a Thunar Custom Action for that... but you can map a keyboard short-cut or even melt your PC. :lipsrsealed:

@Sparky, if you change the code, just keep notes on exactly what you had to do, with line numbers & such. It should really be quite easy to make the changes any time you need to in the future after that.

Probably just as simple as cut, paste, save & compile. :)
