unable to configue l2tp/ipsec VPN in NetworkManager

#1 Post by troubleticket »

Hi MX-ies,

1st: 10q to all maintainers for this distro, it's my favourite for a smooth desktop even for non linuxoides (as some of my fellows are ...)

Reason for this post: some other distros seem to have some kind of "network-manager-l2tp"-package which seems to enable
the choice of "Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (L2TP)" in network-manager VPN-selection.

Neither the package nor the functionality is something I could find so far.

I'd like to connect to VPN-Server which is using this protocol.

Any ideas?

Hi, and welcome! I see "Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (L2TP)" as a type option when I start to set up a new connection--does that not work?

OK, I'm an idiot, not there.

So I looked around, and find network-manager-l2tp (1.2.10-1) is in Buster: "This package provides a VPN plugin for L2TP with optional IPsec support." That package has dependency problems for MX-18, so the best thing to do would be to post a request in the Packagers Forum: viewforum.php?f=134
