If the password is what you think it is you should be able to open the luks partitions from thunar in a Live session.

I am unable to create new post. So as my question is some what related I write here.
I did not selected to encrypt home folder while installation. Now I want to encrypt the root partition. How can I achieve this?
Further please tell me if my system crashes how can I get into the encrypted /home partition form live mx linux?
