For what it's worth, gnome-activity-journal does not install (17.1)l. I have tried using the deb file for stretch located on debian and it fails on dependencies. I know this is not exactly a repo issue but it is a package I personally like to use as a breadcrumb trail when I'm lost or have lost something. ;) Yes, that's pretty often.
zeitgeist (which gnome-activity-journal was formally known as) is in the repos already... have a look using Synaptic in case there's packages needed to be added (GUI? etc). Although I've no idea if the versions/features match

I'll test it Chris!

EDIT- Update: Zeitgeist is the backend, I think. The Activity journal is a tool to view the activities by day, etc. I installed The Zeitgeist-explorer and it is similar though not the same. Having not ever used Zeitgeist-explorer before I'm not certain but I think it would do much of what I need.

Another repo request... this request is for ZOOM Conferencing which is for those who like Internet Video Conferencing (a limited use version is free for those of us "budget minded folks"). I personally find the tool to be very useful. I installed my copy using a deb file. However, if Zoom Conferencing meets the rules for incorporation, I think it would be a nice addition to the MX repos. see: https://zoom.us/support/download

My last entry is a request involving Ice-SSB developed by the folks at PeppermintOS. When I download the deb file from the Peppermint site and install it on MX Linux 17.1, the installer says it is in the repos (although my search queries do not find it). I'm guessing that the problem involves me; but, neither ice-ssb nor 'site specific browser' seem to unearth the software. Perhaps someone can check into this and see what ought to be done... telling me it's a personal problem is okay. ;)

This one's going to need a couple backports. no more time tonight. I'll post more tomorrow. - mike

Manyroads, this thread is just to keep us packagers from inadvertently both working on the same project, and also to let users know what might be in the works. We have a separate subforum for package requests that you can use instead in the future: viewforum.php?f=55
