Greetings from Australia!

#1 Post by pdhunter1987 »

G'day (which means Hello or Good day in Australia) everyone, my name is Paul.

I couldn't find an "Introduce yourself" area anywhere on this Forum so I started a topic here, hope that's alright.

I have just switched to MX Linux 17.1 and am very impressed with this, it doesn't feel like just another Linux distro.

I love Debian and the stability it offers compared to say Ubuntu, XFCE is awesome and I love the panel setup out of the box here.

I have been using Linux full time without Windows for about 9 years now as I don't require Windows for anything.

I have used just about every desktop environment and loads of different Linux distros, from Mint, All of The Buntus, Debian, Manjaro, Elementary, Ubuntu MATE, Fedora, doing alot of distro and desktop hopping until recently.

I started using Linux with Linux Mint 11 "Katya" and have loved Linux ever since. I have just switched from Kubuntu to MX Linux and absolutely love it.

I want to thank the developers, the team, all of those who contribute to this and the community for this great work.

I hope to be able to contribute in some shape or form and help others on this Forum.

Thanks very much for your hard work with MX!

/ end wall of text

Paul

Usually NZ but sometimes it is better from LA. Yesterday I installed something from test repo and NZ showed "not found" so had to switch.

@ sunrat. Yep, that is what I expected. I try to use the NZ mirror, it's close and very fast for me, but several times now have had to switch, usually go to Utah. Might be something to do with the time updates are sent to the mirrors, as NZ seems to come right a few hours later.
