Translating icewm.pot

#1 Post by Zeh »

String 126 in icewm.pot reads:

-c, --config=FILE Let IceWM load preferences from FILE.
-t, --theme=FILE Let IceWM load the theme from FILE.

-d, --display=NAME Use NAME to connect to the X server.
--sync Synchronize communication with X11 server.

-i, --icewm=FILE Use FILE as the IceWM window manager.
-n, --notray Do not start icewmtray.
-s, --sound Also start icesound.

It looks to me that the capitalized words (=FILE, =NAME) are placeholders for file names and display names respectively, thus are supposed to be translated. Could someone confirm, please? Thanks.

(There are other strings in the file having the same type of information, so I'll take the rule for all of them, of course)

Edit: This is the continuation of the thread https://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=96&t=46071, which gave me the answer to my question before evolving beyond it's original scope.

String 32 in icewm.pot

I find this string already translated by anticapitalista who evidently copied the entries in the various language.po files of icewm-git
The strange thing is that in this string, in the English box there is the number one: 1 and in the Italian box it is "translated" with the number two: 2

Is it correct or it is an oversight?

Probably Richard, but I just checked your spanish icewm.pot and the line 32 appears as in Italian. French icewm the same, so I think all languages appear in the same way on string 32. Now I'm not sure it's an error.

In literal #32 of the IceWM.pot,
it was
-- EN [1 ] . . ES [2 ]
changed it to read:
+ EN [1 ] . . ES [1 ]

If that isn't correct, please advise.
Thanks.
