I've just changed some formatting in my earlier post in the link above to make it easier to understand but there are no changes in text.

I'm going to answer myself... :p

The test with syntax 1.10 of MX17.1 runs without errors.

I have another test with MX17.1

MX17.1 uses syntax 1.10 (conky-all 1.10.6) This allows me to display corresponding configurations on the desktop with the MX Conky tool, without the Conky Manager. With correct path specification one Conky each possible. The current Conky will be ended. The picture is therefore misleading (I tricked). ;)
However, the close link with the Conky Manager does not allow any operation of the tool.
manager_UND_mx.jpg
The Conky-Manager only accepts the syntax1.9
Appropriate configurations can be placed in the main directory ~/.conky/. It would still have to be examined how a converted 1.9'er behavior.

Overall, it is not a pleasure to work with. A dead end. I'm not a fan of the Conky1.10 at all. :blindfold:

Conky has been version 1.10 since mx16.

Unfortunately CM, which is a user-friendly tool to handle conkies (because mx aims to be approachable to newcomers) only recognises ver 1.9 conkies, so the collection of conkies chosen for the default ISO all had to be old syntax conkies, in order to work OOTB with CM.

If you don't use CM to manage your conkies, you can use any syntax conkies in MX17.

Antix still uses 1.9, I believe.

Yes, antiX uses 1.9 and conveniently re-packaged the deb as conky-legacy.

I have the above all in Conky Manager

On another note, how does one capture screen shots and have them viewable for the forum? I seem to have continually resize them to a point they appear distorted and clear.

The conkies in your screenshot were all provided in the old (ver 1.9) syntax so that they would show up in Conky Manager.

For screenshots above a certain filesize, you will need to upload them on a picturehosting site, and then in your forum post, link to the pic on that site by bookending the pic URL with [img ] and [/ img ] {no spaces} codes.

I use Imgur to host pics because I don't have to create a user account and I'm just posting at most a few pics every month. Below all my screenshots, I paste the Imgur pic link, so I have some sort of record of where each of my screenshots are hosted.

Anybody know how to make Conky display wired network (eth0) speeds in b/s not B/s?
