Dave server MX 16

#1 Post by rokytnji.1 »

MX updater will error out with 404 for me today. Seems Daves server is down presently.

My work around. I went into synaptic and unchecked Daves Jessie repo line on the top line. Closed synaptic after saving changes.
Then in XFCE terminal

Code: Select all

 sudo apt-get update
Then

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Said yes when needed, Let it finish.

Then closed terminal. Went into synaptic package manager again. Enabled Daves repo line again. Hit reload. 404 again since the server is down right now.
But my dist-upgrade went OK. Oh yeah. smxi-inxi-antix package is lacking a signed certificate. Just info for those that need to know.
My present condition is

Code: Select all

harry@shop1:~
$ sudo apt-get -f install

The antiX repos are mirrored on all the MX mirrors, so you can replace http://antix.daveserver.info with http://iso.mxrepo.com/antix until daveserver is back up.

Or use mx-repo-manager to pick another mirror (I think it's not obvious there but Dave's mirror is linked to mxrepo.com, if you select any other repo another antiX repo will be populated).

Just so I am clear on this

Code: Select all

http://iso.mxrepo.com/antix/jessie/
Should be the line inserted since I am on 16 and using jessie?

Use mx-repo-manager, select another repo, you won't have to wonder what goes where.

Okay. What I did was switch from Utah repo to Los Angeles repo. It pulled in smxi-inxi-antix with no errors. Thanks.

Because. I got other members asking. Over here.

Yes, the correct repo is http://iso.mxrepo.com/antix/stretch/ with /stretch because there are also /testing /sid /jessie I insisted you (and other people) use mx-repo-manager because it's easy to screw up the file if you do it by hand.
