Let's say a pack of optimised (thanks for the offer, BTW) start button icons is added to the ISO or made available for install via MXPI (which answers point 1 of my previous post) , is that the answer to your request?

Or is your request also for a tool to help apply the said icons (point 2 of my previous post) ?

In other words, would you consider the current manual application of a start button icon, but from a set of pre-installed start icons , as being able to "apply it out of the box"?

ASUS X42D laptop: AMD Phenom II, 6GB RAM, Mobility Radeon HD 5400

That's what I was seeking, my apologies for not making things clear. People who want options then have them "out of the box" - they simply pick the icon of their choosing via the whisker menu's right click properties option.

MX's whisker menu by default points to /usr/local/share/icons/ so it actually probably wouldn't be an issue to put more images there. Speaking as a non-developer, of course.

What is the name of a program?

I have optimized all of the icons at viewtopic.php?f=116&t=42449&start=60 - antechdesigns has done some great work.

There are 62 files. The original size of the files was 1.4MB, and I gave reduced it to ~240KB with no loss of visual quality.

Do you want the files individually posted here, or can I forward them on in a zip file?

Whoa! Thanks! Pls zip them up in a single archive.

If it's too big to upload to a forum post here, you could just provide a cloud link.
