I changed repos into synaptic from scid to testing -- VLC is installed now and it is working fine.
Thanks!

Note that you have a stretch-updates repo as well as an "unstable" one, which is "sid".
So if you changed the antix nosystemd ones to testing, but left your debian repos unchanged, conflicts may happen again .Repos:
Active apt repos in: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/antix.list
1: deb http://repo.antixlinux.com/sid sid main nosystemd
2: deb-src http://repo.antixlinux.com/sid sid main nosystemd
Active apt repos in: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/debian-stable-updates.list
1: deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ stretch-updates main contrib non-free
Active apt repos in: /etc/apt/sources.list.d/debian.list
1: deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free

Re: Problems installing media VLC [Solved]
I just noticed that that VLC 3.0.2 has now appeared as a Stretch update, but has an odd versioning that leaves it lower than the antiX and test repo versions. I guess we can remove ours from the test repo now, though, and go with Debian's...unless the antiX version will then be installed. Let me check.
Edit: I hope they rebuilt phonon-backend-vlc against the new version, or they can cause some grief.
