Thanks Dolphin_oracle but it would be much nice if it is added to MXPI since MXPI has all the window managers

Re: Request to add LXQT in MXPI
that's not what I was asking.
I'm asking if the metapackage LXqt is enough to add, or if something else should be added as well along with it. MX PackageInstaller ->Popular Apps is not restricted to 1 package to install at a time, it can install a list of packages.
So if something is obviously missing from the lxqt metapackage, it might make sense to add it to the list.

Everything will install i think openbox should be installed because it will give more options to change the themes in lxqtdolphin_oracle wrote: ↑Sat May 12, 2018 3:09 pm that's not what I was asking.

Re: Request to add LXQT in MXPI
What D_O is saying is, besides necessary dependencies that may have been accidentally omitted from the lxqt metapackage, does anyone who has tried installing and setting up lxqt have any suggestions for recommended, non compulsory packages that should ALSO be installed in order to get an ideal and full lxqt system up and running?
Example, I believe that at one stage (probably no longer the situation), if one installed gnome 3 desktop by just going with the basic metapackage, you wouldn't get gnome tweak tool. But that was a really useful to help you change themes, manage shell extensions, give you back the minimise button in your windows, etc. So if installation of gnome3 is automated via mxpi, it makes sense for tweak tool to also be installed.
Similarly installing virtual box from mxpi will automatically add the user to the vboxuser group so you won't have to manually.
Otherwise all mxpi would be doing would be providing a hassle free one click way of finding and installing the standard lxqt metapackage.
But it would be good if mxpi provided even more value-add.

Code: Select all
sudo apt install install lxqt pcmanfm openbox obconf compton compton-conf
as i did it i faced many problems when i search in the menu i used to get black window like bug but if this kwin window manager is installed we will get excellent graphics like in KDE is there any possibilty to fix this ?

@vamsi
The pcmanfm you need with lxqt is "pcmanfm-qt".
